What’s in a Name?

In Europe, history is alive. A dizzying cascade of cultural artifacts surround you as you walk down streets and across squares, memories and stories of the many people and pasts that have shaped the land over thousands of years.

The mark left on Europe by the Medici family is immense. Their generous patronage resulted in the creation of iconic works that have become synonymous with the Renaissance. Yet Medici support extended far beyond just financial patronage; they provided artists with the intellectual and creative freedom to explore new ideas and techniques which led to groundbreaking developments that spread throughout Europe influencing artistic, scientific, and economic development for centuries to come.

The last descendent of the infamous Medici family died in 1743.  In keeping with the Medici way of always sharing beauty with others, Maria Luisa bequeathed the entire Medici collection to the people of Florence to be enjoyed in perpetuity. Until the very end, the Medici were catalysts in a way that continues to profoundly impact us today. It is by personally exploring the world of the Medici that one is able to encounter their commitment to creating an enduring cultural heritage that reflects the Medici Way: support for artists, architects, intellectuals, scientists, and the Church.

Our Mission

At the Medici Way, we believe that it’s important to keep this mission alive and so we do our part in whatever way we can to share the beauty that we know and love in innovative ways. If you’d like to know more about our Medici Way of giving, send us a note below.
